DOMINION’S REQUIREMENTS BEING MET By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, November 27. "Manufacturers and their employees can, and will, produce an increasingly large proportion of the goods required by the Dominion,” said the Hon. D. G. Sullivan when saying farewell at Hanmer this morning to delegates who attended the conference of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, which was concluded to-day. The conference was the largest and most widely representative ever held by the Federation. The Minister expressed his pleasure at the opportunity which the conference had afforded him of discussing with manufacturers, both Individually and collectively, their problems. The most pleasing feature to him was the complete absence of anything in the nature of defeatism. Manufacturers, in common with the rest of the community. undoubtedly had problems and difficulties arising out of the war situation, but they were tackling their job with determination and a spirit of confidence.
At the end of his address Mr Sullivan was given an ovaton.
