During the last 40 months of the Chinese and Japanese hostilities 986 Japanese aircraft have been destroyed by Chinese ’planes or brought down by the ground forces. These figures do not Include damaged aeroplanes which crashed behind the Chinese lines. British property has suffered very heavy damage as a result of Japanese attacks since the beginning of the war. The British property losses are 1,949,465 Chinese dollars, American property 1,468.000, Italian 744,000, German 150,000, Spanish, 30.000 and French 7000. The spokesman for the Chinese Air Force declared that these figures do not include the losses of foreign governments and institutions.
