THREAT IN FAR EAST

Air Force Considerably Strengthened By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright CHRISTCHURCH, November 21. Considerable forces are being sent to the Far East by the Royal Air Force, according to the British High Commissioner (Sir Harry Batterbee) in a luncheon address to the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. Sir Harry was referring to the increasing burden of the war on the Royal Air Force. He mentioned the work of British aircraft in defending Britain and attacking Germany, and the large forces sent to the help of Greece and to the Middle East. “I am not giving away a secret when I say that considerable forces are at the same time being sent to the Far East,” he said.
