Efforts To Inspire Appeasement United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 20, 6.30 p.m.) CHICAGO, November 19. Mr Martin Dies, chairman of the Committee of Un-American Activities, after questioning witnesses to-day, said: “The Berlin-Rome intelligence service has a huge network which is plotting to obtain economic influence in the principal industries. It aims to raise all the money possible for the use of the belligerents and to Inspire the United States towards appeasement." He added that an official representative of a foreign Government headed the system.
