An Elfin Merit Card for 50 marks has been awarded to Daphne Hopkinson, and also to Ralph Swan who has gained 50 marks. Golden Merit Cards for 25 marks have been awarded to:— Hazel Rapley Jean Edgar Linda Rapley Mona Ivey Brenda Haywood. TWO CHICKENS Two little chickens of fluffy yellow. One is such a bold wee fellow. One day when we let them out They came running round about, One fluffy chick followed me round And then he started to scratch on the ground, And soon some big fat worms he had found. (3 Marks to Hazel Rapley, age 8.) WHAT I FORGOT I forgot the gracious work it did When I wished the rain would go; Without it flowers would never bloom Or never a tree would grow. I forgot it made the grass so green Where I love to run and play. All the world would be parched and bare If the rain went away for aye.
