A SAILOR WAS “BROKE” Six years ago a seaman, who celebrated too well his last day on shore, was found In a London street in such a state that he ,had to be taken to the police station, He was released on £5 bail because he had to join his ship He was fined in his absence. The other day the sailor turned up at the Tilbury police station. He was “broke,” he said, and just called on the chance that there might be some change from his £5. There was. An inspector handed him £4/10/-.
