Nash) a cheque for £5OlO/10/8, which has been subscribed by the people of seven northern counties in response to the fighter ’plane fund appeal opened by the paper. With the exception <of several £5O donations th 6 subscriptions were almost entirely small amounts, the contributors ranging from old age pensioners to young children who gave voluntarily. The Minister has been asked to communicate to Lord Beaverbrook (Minister of Aircraft Production) the desire of the contributors that the fighter should bear the name “Northland.”
