HIT ON VICTORY CLAIMED
Denial By Admiralty United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 15 The Berlin radio alleged that the Nazi bombers yesterday hit Nelson’s flagship Victory, the flag standard of which was thrown into the sea. It adds: “British sailors regard this as a bad omen.” On inquiry at the Admiralty, however, it was learned that no damage whatever has been suffered by H.M.S. Victory.
