WOMAN FOUND DEAD

Gun Lying Near Body Returning home to Murray Street, Temuka, at 3.30 p.m yesterday Mr T. Trezise found the dead body of his wife in a bedroom with a gun close by. Inspector Flanagan. Detective Sergeant E. M. Thomas (Timaru) and Sergeant M. E. Hill made exhaustive inquiries but could not determine the mode of death until a pathological examination had been made. Murray Street is on the outskirts of the borough, and there are no residences in close proximity to the house of the deceased. Neighbours said that they did not hear any sound resembling the discharge of a gun. An Inquest for the purpose of identification will be held at Temuka at 10 a.m. to-day.
