MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB
At the eighteenth annual meeting of the Cave Miniature Rifle Club, Mr A. Hawthorne presided. The balance-sheet, showing a profit of £5/12/4, was considered very satisfactory. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P.; patroness, Mrs A. R. Seymour; president, Mr A. Hawthorne; vicepresidents, Messrs R. Wisely, A. E. Kerr, A. E. Gillingham. D. G. Ker, O. Jones, W. A. Little, B. H. Howell, C. Malthus, G. G. Rich, P. J. Bowman, J. Guerin, B. Baker, T. Wilson, S Mathias, J. Campbell, A. Chant, J. R. Paterson, W. Hyndham, W. J. Moses, R. G. Clelland, R. J. Harvey; captain, Mr T. Taylor; secretary and treasurer. Mr R. Moses; armourers and coaches, Mr F. Taylor and Mr R. Rapley; handicapper and target checker, Mr R. Moses; committee, officers and Messrs F. Howard, J. W. Gray, D. Parks, A. Tate and G. Chant. The subscriptions were fixed as follows:—Men, 7/6; under 18, 5/-; women 5/-. It was arranged to hold fortnightlyeuchre and dances during the winter months. A practice shoot was held, the scores being:—A. Tate 78, R. Moses 78, A. Hawthorne 77, A. Raplev 75, F. Taylor 74, G. Chant 73, J. Young 72, F. Howard 71, M. Senior 69, D. Parks 63. The winners of the euchre held on Saturday evening were Mrs Thompson, Miss Griffen, Mr Taylor and Mr Paiks. TENNIS CLUB Members of the Cave Tennis Club held their closing day last Saturday afternoon when women’s handicap singles were held for a trophy presented by Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P. The winner was Miss Mai Scott.
