COLLISION AT ALBURY A car and a truck collided on the Albury bridge at the intersection of the Chamberlain Road and the Main road yesterday afternoon. No one was injured and neither vehicle was greatly damaged. The truck was driven by Mr J. H. Smillie, of Albury, and the car, which was travelling from the Hermitage to Timaru, was driven by a Dunedin man. BAD WEATHER The Mackenzie Country has experienced exceptionally cold weather during the last two days. Snow fell nearly all day yesterday but did not lie to any great depth. The County Council’s graders were busy keeping the roads open. Yesterday Fairlie was lashed with rain, hail and sleet and last evening a strong wind sprang up. The Two Thumb range is thickly covered with snow. At Mt. Nessing there were two to three inches of snow. Most of the small creeks in the district are carrying a good volume of water but no damage has been done.
