MINIATURE RIFLES
WASHDYKE CLUB The annual meeting of the Washdyke Miniature Rifle Club was held in the Public Hall on April 9, eleven members being present. Mr P. Applegarth was voted to the chair.
A motion of thanks to the retiring officers and the newspapers was carried.
The election of officers for the coming season resulted: Patron, Mr D. Kellahan; president, Mr W. Parlane; vice-presidents, Messrs L. King, K. Mayo, J. King, R. Moore, D. Anderson A. Ross, K. Hunt, J. Pemberton, W. Wood, w. King, s. Browne, W. Willmott, W. A. Field, R. G. Slade, R. A. Rodgers, G. E. Cartwright, A. B. Ramsay, A. Mitchell; club captain, Mr P. Applegarth; vice-captain, Mr I. Pearce; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Pearce; assistant secretary, Mr D. Hessell; handicapper, Mr I. Pearce; target checkers, Messrs J. Becklngsale and P. Applegarth; committee, Messrs D. Doak and W. Jones; delegates, Mr P. Applegarth and W. Pearce. At a practice shoot held on Tuesday night the best scores were: P. Applegarth 78, W. Pearce 77, I. Pearce 75, J. Becklngsale 75, F. Wilson 74, A. Townley 72, I. Mehrtens 69, W. Aitken 66, D. Hessell 68. A. Shaw 64, W. Gilmore 61.
