ST. MARY’S CHURCH

SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC Pupils of St. Mary’s Sunday School, Timaru, accompanied by their parents, spent a most enjoyable day in the Temuka Domain on Saturday. The picnic, the first to be organised by the Vestry and teachers for some years, was such a success that it may well become an annual event. With the asistance of the congregation it was found possible to provide an abundance of food for the children, the task of handling the meals being undertaken by the teachers, to whom every credit is due for the able manner in which they carried out all the arrangements. Members of the Vestry also assisted in conducting swimming and athletic events, treasure hunts and so on, and generally the day’s programme was as full of interest as it could possibly be. The Domain itself proved an ideal spot for the occasion, the many adults present being greatly impressed with the attractiveness of the surroundings, which are a credit and an undoubted asset to the town.
