Further Outbreak Of Bush Fires . United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received February 12, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 12. Hundreds of firemen and volunteers worked throughout the week-end fighting serious bush fires in the country and in the outer suburbs of Sydney. Damage estimated at £20,000 was caused by a fire at the pithead of the Glebe Colliery, near Newcastle. Fires in the outlying districts of Lithgow are described as he worst in living memory.
Thirty thousand acres of grass and wheat land have been destroyed by a big bush fire near Wagga. The heat-wave reached 103 degrees in Sydney yesterday.
