SOLID SUPPORT FOR EMPIRE

Lord Willingdon Praises Dominion Spirit

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright

(Received February 10, 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 9.

Lord Willingdon, interviewed today, declared that New Zealand is marching solidly hand in hand with the rest of the Empire in its war effort. The loyalty and solidarity he encountered in the Dominion was truly inspiring. He added that the next peace terms must be settled in Berlin in order to impress the Germans with our fairness, but “I hope that there will be no hard feeling against the German people.” The Aoteroa arrived with Lord and Lady Willingdon and Senator Mcßride and Mrs Mcßride. The trip took 11 hours with head winds throughout. Senator Mcßride paid a tribute to New Zealand’s war effort.
