FOR SENTENCE
WELLINGTON BURGLARS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, February 7. Caught by the police on the summons of a nightwatchman in C. Smith’s, Ltd.. Cuba Street, Samuel Jamieson McKee, aged 29, and Roy George Cudby, aged 37, pleaded guilty to-day to breaking and entering the premises and stealing £52/19/5 in money. They were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. They blew the strongroom door and two safes inside it. The money was found wrapped in a towel while the men were being hunted down. In Cudby’s pocket was a tobacco pouch containing two small pieces of gelignite, a detonator and a piece of fuse. He also had a small torch and was wearing white cotton gloves. McKee wore one leather glove and a man’s sock on the other hand. Entry was apparently made up a fire escape and through a grilled window, a bar of which was cut through with a hacksaw.
