Steps taken in consultation with France to reduce restrictions on trade between Britain and France were mentioned by Mr R. S. Hudson, Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Trade, in emphasising in a House of Commons answer th desire of Britain to reduce such restrictions to a minimum compatible with war necessities. He pointed out that under the recent Britihs and French financial agreement purchases from France stood in a different category from those from other countries which required the use of foreign exchange.
