BODY RECOVERED
THIRD VICTIM OF CRASH By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, February 7. The body ol Aircraftsman D. H. Birbeck, third member of the crew of the Baffin bomber which crashed In the sea at Waimairi on Monday, was found on the beach at South Brighton early this morning. It had been carried seven miles south from the scene of the disaster. Flight-Lieutenant A. D. Poulton, the pilot, was given a military funeral at East Eyreton this afternoon. A hundred or more officers and men from Wigram attended. The funeral of Air-Gunner Strachan will be held at Roxburgh, Central Otago, to-morrow. Air Force mechanics salvaged a great deal of wreckage yesterday, and this was taken to ' Wigram In the afternoon. The engine, recovered on Monday night, has been stripped. Its parts now lie In a bath of anti-corro-sive fluid, for most of the components can be used again.
