The success of Parents' Day at the Fairlie District High School was referred to at a meeting of the committee by the chairman. Mr A. R. Manchester. The profit from the stalls had beeh £lO, he skid. It was decided to grant the headmaster a third of this for incidental expenses. The resignation of Miss M. Meldrum was received and it was decided to record appreciation of her work during the last five and a-half years.
It was repotted that the Sherwood Downs School would not reopen and that the children from that district would travel to Fairlie in the school bus. The annual school excursion to Timaru will be held on February 15. It was agreed to invite pupils and parents of the Convent School to join in the excursion.
