Miss Mary Hall, “Beltana,” has returned from Grey mouth. Miss Joan Maling, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs D. Unwin, “Highthorne.”

Mrs W. B. Cunningham and her children, Nile Street, have returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs W. I. Tait and their family, Beverley Road, have returned from a visit to Wellington. Miss Elsie Oddie, who has been spending the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. C. Oddie, LeCren Street, has returned to Dunedin.

Miss G. Spring, Heaton Street, returned yesterday from a visit to Wellington where she attended the National Eucharistic Congress. Mrs F. M. Simonds, Pleasant Point, xyho visited Wellington for the National Eucharistic Congress returned home yesterday. Miss Gillies, who has been spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs J. L. Gillies, Craigie Street, has returned to Palmerston North.

Misses N. and H. Wixon left for Hukarere College, Napier, yesterday, accompanied by their aunt, Mrs W. Taipana, Springburn. Mr and Mrs J. Holdgate, North Street, and Mr and Mrs H. McClatchy, Otipua Road, have returned from a visit to the Southern Lakes.

Mss Po whirl Wixon, who has been appointed junior teacher at the Waitapu School, Hokianga, North Auckland, left for the north yesterday.

The engagement is announced of Donald McLeod, second son of Mr James Ross and the late Mrs James Ross, Otekaike, and Dorks Ada, second daughter of Mrs Goulding and the late Mr W. Goulding, Marchwiel Street, Timaru.
