Mr L. J. Schmitt, general manager of the Government Tourist and Publicity Department, is visiting the South Island.
Mr J. Henricksen, line foreman to the Post and Telegraph Department, at Cambridge, has received notice of his transfer to Auckland. Mr Henricksen has been in Cambridge for the last 29 years.
Dr. Richard L. Sutton, professor of dermatalogy at the University of Kansas, arrived at Auckland from San Francisco by the Monterey on his sixth visit to New Zealand in quest of big game fish. Writer of travel books, leader of expeditions to Africa, IndoChina, and the Arctic, and an international authority on skin diseases, Dr. Sutton is widely known, particularly in the United States. He is accompanied by Dr. C. O. Terrell, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mr F. M. Corzelius, of Houston, Texas. Dr. Sutton said he proposed fishing for five weeks off Mayor Island, and would then spend a similar period at Whangaroa.
