CIVIC RECEPTION

OVERSEAS REPRESENTATIVES CENTENNIAL By Telegraph —Press Association WELLINGTON. January 23. A civic reception was extended in the Town Hall to Lord Willingdon. representative of the British Government to the centennial, and Senator P. A. M. Mcßride, Commonwealth representative, to-day on behalf of the city and th: Government of New Zealand, the speakers being the Mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop) and the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), who represented the Government. The visitors, replying, both expressed appreciation of the hospitality they had received since they had been in Wellington. Senator Mcßride congratulated the country on the excellence of the Centennial Exhibition.
