LOST TOTALISATOR TICKETS

Sir,—Your correspondent “Thomas Seaton” thinks I should apologise to Mr James and to the totalisator staff for asking, at a meeting of the Timaru Trotting Club, a question about a subject upon which I was expected to vote. I can see nothing objectionable in my question and it might interest “Thomas Seaton” to know that those members of the totalisator staff who do see the figures I referred to support my contention that no dividend should be paid unless the ticket is produced. My question cast no reflection on Mr James for whom I have the greatest admiration. He does not run the totalisator at Washdyke now. Each Timaru Club runs its own totalisator. —I am, etc., W. A. PIDDINGTON. Timaru, January 22. Letters Intended for publication must be reasonably brief and written legibly In Ink on one side of tne paper. Correspondent* must also attach their name and addrest to all letters submitted, even though a pen-name Is being used. The Editor does not undertake to entei into correspondence concerning letter* which are refused publication for sufficient reason.
