LOST TOTALISATOR TICKETS
Sir,—Your correspondent “Thomas Seaton” thinks I should apologise to Mr James and to the totalisator staff for asking, at a meeting of the Timaru Trotting Club, a question about a subject upon which I was expected to vote. I can see nothing objectionable in my question and it might interest “Thomas Seaton” to know that those members of the totalisator staff who do see the figures I referred to support my contention that no dividend should be paid unless the ticket is produced. My question cast no reflection on Mr James for whom I have the greatest admiration. He does not run the totalisator at Washdyke now. Each Timaru Club runs its own totalisator. —I am, etc., W. A.
