Otago, with an aggregate of 55 points, won the War Memorial Shield. Nelson, with a small but exceedingly capable team, was runner-up with 40 points, and Southland next with 33 points, and Southland next with 33 points. INTER-CLUB SPORTS SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE Under the auspices of the South Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club an inter-club handicap meeting, which attracted competitors from Timaru, Waimate, Fairlie and Temuka, was held under ideal conditions at Ashbury Park on Saturday afternoon. Entries were good and there were some keen finishes in the sprints and distance events. Mr C. N. Hamilton, who acted as supervisor, was assisted by a capable band of officials.
