DANUBIAN STATES ALARMED
Likely Rearrangement
In Poland
Nazis May Help Soviet Against Finns
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 19, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. “The Times” correspondent in a message from Belgrade states that authenticated reports that German troops have entered South Sovietised Poland have aroused interest and apprehension in Danubian states. It is widely believed that an important rearrangement of Russian and German relations in this area is imminent. Germany is reported to have agreed to assist in the Finnish struggle either in the form of expert advice or more effective measures to prevent material from reaching the Finns for which the Soviet will cede the oil-bearing district south-east of Lwow reaching almost to the Rumanian frontier. Such a development would change the balance of power in the Danubian states and the Balkans overnight.
