North (Whangarei) won the 1940 Southern Hemisphere Skeet championship at the concluding day of the Centennial trap-shooting tournament of New Zealand Gun Clubs’ Association on the Hutt Valley Gun Club's ground to-day. North shot 44 out of 50. He reecived the championship sash, £B/10/- in cash and a trophy valued at £4/5/-. A. E. Robinson (Auckland) was second with 43 and received £l/5/- cash and a trophy order valued at £2/2/6. J. Stiven (Balclutha) was third with 41, S. Tisdall (Wellington) fourth with 39, W. A. Barnard (Palmerston North) fifth with 38.
