WEDDING

BLANCHARD—HEYWOOD

At the Woodland Street Methodist i Church the Rev. H. L. Fiebig (Christ- . church) assisted by the Rev. C. Blair . (Timaru) celebrated the marriage of | Clare, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Hey- ' wood, Avenue Road, and Stanley, son i of Mr and Mrs A. Blanchard, Wood- [ lands Road. Mr J. Diack presided at | the organ and during the signing of ; the register the solo “My Prayer” was I sung by Miss Zelda Osborne. (Dune- I din) niece of the bridegroom. The I church had been artistically decorated 1 by Mrs C. Blair. The bride, who was given away by j her father, wore a gown of white fig- | ured satin made on slim fitting lines. • The peaked neckline was finished with 1 a small white spray. The skirt, which was peaked on to the bodice in front, was cut so as to form a graceful train. Her embroidered veil was held in place by an artistically arranged coronet and she carried a bouquet of Regal Lilies and fern.

The bride was attended by Miss Lois Chapman, who was gowned in a dress of teal shaded stiffened lace, worn over teal georgette. Her headgear toned with her bouquet which was of lemon abutilon and fern. Mr E. Howell (Wellington was best man.

Later the guests met at the Stafford where the wedding breakfast was held. The bride’s mother, who received the guests, wore a borwn floral ensemble w’ith hat to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy figured frock with navy coat and hat to match. When Mr and Mrs S. Blanchard left for the south the bride wore a navy floral frock under a navy edge-to-edge coat, with navy hat and accessories to tone. A fur stole completed her outfit.
