ENLISTMENTS TOTAL 22,895 By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 19 During the week ended last Saturday enlistments in the Dominion Increased by 2354 to 22,895. Of this total the classifications were:— Fit 14,802 Temporarily unfit 2,489 Permanently unfit 2,561 Reserved occupations .. ~ 1,457 Sent to camp 11,027 Balance available for posting to camp .. .. 1,960 QUOTA FILLED By Telegraph—Press Association WHANGAREI, January 19 The departure of 130 volunteers to-day completed North Auckland's Second Echelon quota of 339, leaving a number in hand for the third. Had it not been that 98 North Auckland recruits were drawn upon to fill First Echelon vacancies in other districts, the quota would have been available much earlier. Recruiting continues briskly, especially among the Maoris, who average an additional dozen daily. The full Ngapuhi allocation of 206 will leave for camp on January 25. More than 650 enlistments for the special battalion have been received.
