Senor Don Roberto Mane Nin has been appointed Consul for Uruguay at Wellington.

Mr Lachlan Mac Lean has been appointed producers’ representative on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board in place of Mr J. D. W. Ormond, resigned.

Mr A. H. Johns, secretary of the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited, has arrived from Mebourne on a visit to New Zealand.

The provisional appointment of Mr Hamilton Matchell as Consular Agent for Brazil at Wellington during the absence of Major C. A. L. 'Treadwell on active service is gazetted.

The Rev. Father E. A. Forsman, of Ormond, Poverty Bay, has been called up for service with the New Zealand special forces, and will proceed to Burnham Camp to take up duty as a chaplain.

Mr W. Crawford, wharf foreman, Railway Department, Westport, has received notice of transfer to Christchurch as passenger foreman. His place will be filled by the promotion and transfer of Mr C. Storey, of Frankton Junction.

Mr B. H. Mason, M.Sc., who left New Zealand in November to take up a science scholarship in Norway, has arrived at Oslo, according to advice by cablegram. He will.be with Professor V. M. Goldschmidt, of the Oslo Geological Museum.

Captain C. E. Fisher, of Shanghai and formerly of Wellington, has arrived on his first visit to New Zealand in 15 years. He originally went to the East 20 years ago and for the greater part of his time there has been engaged as a pilot at Shanghai.
