The final of the novice waltzing com]>etition will be held in the Harmonica Bandroom to-night. To-night in the Washdyke Hall, farewell presentations and a dance will be held. All arrangements have been completed for the .smoke concert to be held in the Bay Tearooms this evening by the Timaru High School Old Boys’ Association in honour of Old Boys departing for overseas service. The New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association has been requested to use its organisation for the purpose of collecting literature for placing upon transports carrying New Zealand troops overseas. This collection is apart from that made for providing reading material for training camps. The South Canterbury Association is making a local appeal for this purpose and has advised that books or periodicals may be left at Messrs Hotwell.
