South Island Centennial Championships Prominent Players To Compete Excellent prospects for the success of the South Island Centennial tennis championships, which will be held at Timaru at the New Year, were reported at a meeting of the Tournament Committee of the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association last night. The president, Mr J. S. Satterthwaite. occupied the chair. Tuck, principal of the Timaru Technical College, wrote that Mr Ollivier’s services as coach had been very much appreciated, and it similar arrangements could be made next term the school would very mich appreciate being included. The president paid a tribute to the services of Mr P. W. Young, who and spent many hours arranging matters in connection with the coaching. The Association had spent more mon-, in coaching junior players last year than any other association in New Zealand Tire meeting agreed that a letter of thanks should be forwarded to Mr Ollivier, expressing appreciation of his enthusiasm and the efficient manner in which he had carried out the coaching programme.
