ALLAN—COOPER
The wedding was celebrated at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waimate, of Ena Margaret, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs T. U. Cooper, Hunter, and Thomas Glaister, only son of Mr and Mrs w. Allan, Oamaru. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. McNeur, St. Andrews, and Miss O. Cameron was the organist. During the signing of the register, the bride's cousin, Miss Mavis Smith, of Christchurch, sang “How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings.’’ The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, cut on simple lines with three pleats at each side of the bodice coming to a point at the waist. A stitched belt defined the waistline. The sleeves were pointed over the hands. Her veil of Brussel! lace was held in place with orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies. The bridesmaid Miss Jean Meredith, wore a frock of apple green chiffon made with short full sleeves, a gathered bodice and full skirt. She wore a short veil of pink tulle and carried a shower bouquet of pink and apricot roses and sweetpeas. Mr T. A. Cooper was best man and Messrs J. McNeill and C. Gibson were the ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Hunter Hall where Mrs Cooper and Mrs Allan received the guests, the former wearing a navy floral frock, a navy coat and hat, and a spray of red roses and abutilons. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy ensemble with hat to match and she carried a bouquet of red roses. When the newly married pair left by car for the north, the bride was wearing a navy pin striped costume, a large navy hat with a cyclamen flower in the front and accessories to match. Mr and Mrs T.
