NEW ZEALAND P. W. HUTTON & CO. 100 YEARS 73 YEARS OF SERVICE OF TO PROGRESS NEW ZEALANDERS Through all the changing years the policy of “HUTTONS” has always been Quality and Service and to-day, although almost three-quarters of a century has passed since those two important principles of business were instituted a visit to our shop and an inspection of our stock will show that we have not deviated one iota from the ideals of the founder of the firm. The trend of modern times is to “buy the cheapest” but it has been proved over and over again that the article that costs the feast money is not always the cheapest in the long run. Take Fountain Pens for instance—lf you buy a “Swan,” Onoto” or “Conway Stewart ' I' ounlain Pen from us we personally guarantee any of these pens to give satisfactory service and remember they arc all British Pens. _ , WRITING PAPER is another item where our first consideration is Quality. Although in these days it is difficult to import goods from overseas, we are fortunate in still having stocks of English High Grade Stationery such as “Inns of Court,” “Bodiarn Bond” and “Brebanl Linen.” Our BOOK DEPARTMENT has always been noted for its large and well assorted stock of up-to-date literature. The latest novels are on Huttons shelves as soon as the city stores and for those who prefer Travel Books, Biographies or books of a similar nature an inspection of this department will reveal again a discriminating selection of the world’s best authors. The DEPARTMENT UPSTAIRS caters for Children’s Books and Fancy Goods. Here again we have always endeavoured to keep our stocks bright and interesting and the kiddies revel in the array of story books, picture books and annuals that fill our shelves from year to year. Another side of our business that is of great importance to South Canterbury is the Bookbinding Department. Here the famous “Reliance” brand of Exercise and Drawing Books are made. For over 50 years these “Reliance” books have been used by school pupils who insist on the best hooks available. As we celebrate our Centennial this year remember also the oldest Bookselling and Stationery business in South Canterbury and where possible encourage local industry by placing orders for any special books, stationery, bookbinding, etc., with P.
