MA WARO

GIFT EVENING Last Tuesday a gift evening, held in Mr Hogg's granary, was tendered to Miss Gladys Waters in honour of her approaching marriage by residents of the Ma Waro district. Mr J. Brosnahan extended good wishes from the large crowd present and Mr Weavers replied on behalf of the bride-to-be. Mr Steuthers supplied the music for the dance. An afternoon was also held at the Mona Vale school when Francie Steuthers presented Miss Waters with a rose-bowl from the children of the Presbyterian Sunday School, and Winsome Leslie presented her with a posy. The afternoon was spent in games. A treasure hunt w’as won by the bride-elect.
