Mr Guy Macallan has been appointed Crown Solicitor at New Plymouth for the period of absence on military service of Mr R. H. Quilliam. Dr. F. W. Hilgendorf has been appointed a member of the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College for a term of three years. A call to the Rev. Duncan Cattanach, of Takapuna, Auckland, has been decided upon by the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hastings, as a successor to the Rev. D. J. A. Shaw, who resigned his charge a few months ago.. The Bursar of Christ’s College (Mr E. R. Webb) will retire next year. This was announced by the head master (Mr R. J. Richards) at the annual prizegiving ceremony. Mr Richards paid a warm tribute to Mr Webb’s work for the college over the last 23 years, and wished him every happiness in his retirement.
