Gayda. declared that revision o£ the colonial system was essential to a new Europe. “Italy, with her rising birthrate, has a particular colonial claim against France, whose birthrate is falling.” Dr. Gayda complained that Britain’s power to close the Mediterranean imprisons Italy, impairing her liberty of movement. “It is necessary that Italy should have freedom similar to other great Powers, who defend the necessities of life at the cost of a very bloody war.”
