The Hon. D. G. Sullivan and Mrs Sullivan will arrive in Timaru on Friday afternoon, accompanied by Mr K. M. Sleight, private secretary. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand yesterday authorised the mission committee to bring to New Zealand Dr. Joseph Perl, a minister of the Universal Czech Brethren, now a refugee in England, if and when opportunity offered. At the meeting of the Timaru Trotting Club the president, Mr E. Macdonald, offered the sympathy of the committee to the secretary, Mr H. H. Fraser, in the death of his father, Mr C. S. Fraser. Mr Macdonald referred to the long and very useful life which Mr Fraser had lived in South Canterbury. His services to the community had taken him into all branches of sport, in addition to his many other social duties. Mr Fraser had left a record of service to the community which was an outstanding example to others. A motion of sympathy was carried in silence.
