SWIMMING

WEST END CLUB The West End Swimming Club held Its first weekly swim on Wednesday evening at the West End Baths. There was a good attendance of members and supporters. Mr D. J. Stewart was starter. Callander (6sec) 3. Time—3osec. 33 1-3 yards intermediate boys’ handicap—A. Moore (4sec) 1, E. Woolford (4sec) 2. M. Moore (scr) 3. Time--26 2-ssec. 33 1-3 yards breaststroke handicap— D. J. Shanahan (scr) 1, E. Cameron (7 sec) 2, E. Woolford (ssec) 3. Time 29 2-ssec. 50 yards senior men’s handicap—L. J. Campbell (3sec) 1, M. Moore (2sec) 2. D. Andrews (ssec) 3. Time —33sec. Three yards separated the competitors at the rope. 66 2-3 yards dual relay—A. Moore and E. Woolford (ssec) 1. E. Lyons and H. Latimer (Bsec) 2, D. Andrews and D Shanahan (Isec) 3. The scratch men. W. Moore and L. J. Campbell finished a yard behind the third pair. The West End Club have arranged to have the use of the West End Baths for instruction on Tuesday evenings, and the officials will be pleased to meet anyone desiring free instruction.
