COLOURFUL FUN MAP

VIVID PRESENTATION OF EXHIBITION Strikingly colourful and packed with amusing detail, the special fun map issued by the Exhibition authorities is being released to-day throughout New Zealand. It has been presented in the form of a hand-bill two feet deep and 18 inches wide, and it shows in a conglomeration of sketches every aspect of entertainment and amusement at the Exhibition. Surrounded by a border of holiday makers in the happiest of moods, waving flags, blowing' trumpets and generally enjoying themselves, the production has an air of gaiety that is particularly appropriate. Almost every feature in Playland, the giant akiusement park, is represented and on the fun map are shown dozens of small figures riding motor cars on the miniature Brookland Speedway shooting their delight on the Cyclone Roller Coaster, eating large meals in the restaurant, swinging around gaily on the Octopus, and doing the hundred and one things that thousands will do with abandon during the Exhibition. The cabaret, the band, the Plunket pavilion, the mechanical man in the Government Court, the Crown jewels’ exhibit and the shark pool are among the many items that are included in this fantastic design.

A querulous mounted policemen firing a huge revolver against a background of pine-clad mountains is labelled "Canada”; an Aboriginal armed with a boomerang and followed by a kangaroo with twins in her pouch are shown progressing towards the Australian Pavilion; bathers in striped costumes are depicted floating in the central fountain, much to the annoyance of the attendant who explains that they can’t swim there; and one of the many humorous touches is the man who is watching the young lady being sawn in half and asking the magician to do his wife next.
