GOLF SEASON CLOSES CLUB TROPHIES PRESENTED The Fairlie Golf Club closed its season on Saturday, when trophies won during the year were presented. Before the presentation a mixed foursome was played, and during the afternoon tea interval the president, Mr C. H. Miller, declared the season closed. Mr Miller said the season had been marked by keen enthusiasm on the part of members, but it was disappointing to see so few on the links. He recommended that next year a drive for members be undertaken. He referred to the matches with outside clubs and expressed regret that the meeting with Highfield and the return match with Geraldine had had to be cancelled. Nevertheless members had had an enjoyable season and he trusted that they would again turn out next year.
Opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Mr W. J. Whitehead, who has attended to the greens. Tributes were paid to his work. The women’s trophies were presented by Mrs M. L.
