ABANDONMENT SUGGESTED = By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, September 12. At a meeting of the Otago Rugby Union .the question of the All trial matches came up for discussion, A and in view of the present situation it . was decided to send a telegram to the ‘ New Zealand Rugby Union -mggc-ting that as there was very little likelihood c * of the tour of South Africa taking 11 i place, the trials should be abandoned. “ It was stated that employers were r giving every facility for employees who i wished to enlist in the Territorials or 1 I other branches of the service to do so, e | and it would th-’-efore be unfair to ask n j them to release men to engage in e Rugby trials.
