A most enjoyable evening was spent at the home of Mr and Mrs D. Scanned, Hamilton Street, when a large number of relatives and friends bade farewell to Miss B. Scannell who has
been appointed to the nursing staff of the Cambridge Military Hospital. Miss Scannell left Temuka on Tuesday. Mr R. Bradshaw. Waino, Southland, will spend the week-end with his parents, Mr and Mrs R. J. Bradshaw, Davey Street. REOPENING OF SCHOOL Because the renovation of four rooms, including two infant rooms, is at present being carried out by the Education Board’s staff, the primary department of the Temuka School will not re-open until Thursday next. The High School is not affected by the renovations, and will resume for the third term next Monday. FOOTBALL The following will represent Temuka against Celtic at the Domain tomorrow:—L. Wilson. A. Polhill. “LOVE FINDS ANDY HARDY” Judge Hardy’s family embarks on another amusing adventure in ‘‘Love Finds A idy Hardy,” which opens at the Elite Theatre co-aight The entire family participates in the fourth of a series of pictures which has rapidly won a place in the hearts of film audiences. Lewis Stone is seen a> Judge Hardy. Mickej Rooney is his son, Andy. Cecilia Parker is the daughter, Fay Holden the mother and Betty Ross Clarke the aunt. In addition, Judy Garland makes her debut in the series in this picture, singing three songs and playing a grown-up role for one night. Lana Turner makes her appearance as one of Mickey’s three girl friends. Ann Rutherford is back again as his “steady” girl.
