Pope’s Efforts for Peace United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright LONDON, June 22. The Rome correspondent of “ The Times” states that the efforts of the Holy See during the past fortnight to induce a better atmosphere between the two conflicting groups of European Powers do not seem to have borne fruit. The reservations of the Governments appear to preclude the possibility of successful negotiation, though all emphasise their anxiety to see peace maintained.
