VAN AND TRUCK COLLIDE A truck driven by John Reid collided with a delivery van in charge of Donald Eathorne at Waimate yesterdaymorning. Neither driver suffered injury. The truck was travelling east along Mill Road when the collision occurred with the van, which was going south along King Street. The truck was able to proceed but the other vehicle received damage to the front axle, necessitating the assistance of a yreakdown van. PERSONAL Miss A. Smart is spending a holiday in Central Otago. Mr Palmer (West Coast) is staying with his daughter, Mrs A. E. Coumbe. Dr. F. Borrie and Miss Eerie are the guests of Mrs R. G. Borrie. Miss E. McCullough, who was recently knocked down by a cyclist in Dunedin, is still suffering from bruises. Resolutions of sympathy were carried with Captain N. A. Rattray in the death of his father and with the relatives of Mr J. Wilson at a meeting of the Waimate District Hunt Club committee on Wednesday night. Mr D. C. Kidd, M.P., will arrive in Waimate to-day. During the afternoon he will meet several deputations and will inspect the Waimate Acclimatisation Society’s camp at Waikakihi. At 8 p.m., with Mrs Kidd, he will attend the Waimate Winter Show.
