NEWS AND NOTES
The popular Saturday night dance will be held at Fairview to-night. Free buses leave Bank of New Zealand stopping at Gleniti and en route. The music will be supplied by the New Savoy Band and a first-class supper will be provided. Card enthusiasts are assured of a good night’s entertainment in the Wentworth Hall to-night under the auspices of the Timaru Labour Social Committee. On Monday night a grand carnival dance will be held in St. Patrick’s Hall, Brown Street. To-night at the Scottish Hall the big attraction (included in the dance programme), for lovers of dancing is the amateur waltzing competition, the first of a series of three for those who have never won a prize at competitions. Vacancies exist in the various branches of the New Zealand Naval Forces for assistant cooks, assistant stewards, artificers, shipwrights, etc. Particulars are advertised in this issue.
