HOSPITAL BOARD
REV. J. M. STEWART RESIGNS The resignation of the Rev. J. Milburn Stewart has been received by the South Canterbury Hospital Board, of which Mr Stewart has been one of the Timaru representatives since the election last year. The reason for his action is that he has left the district. The Board has approached the Timaru Borough Council to fill the vacancy, that action being provided for in the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, of Which section 25 states that the contributing local body may be asked to appoint a person to take the place of any member who resigns or whose office falls vacant in any other way.
