SLOT TELEPHONE FOR HIGHFIELD
Sir, —I have read with great interest two letters that have appeared recently with regard to the installation of a penny-in-the-slot telephone at the Highfleld terminus. It is often the case that an urgent telephone call has to be made, and-unless one goes right to the Bay the only option is to beg the use of the telephone from a private resident or a storekeeper. This appalling state of affairs calls for an urgent remedy, and it is to be hoped that in the near future we will see a call box erected in our suburb.—l am, etc., CENTURION. Timaru, June 2.
