Elizabeth, last Monday, Was taken to the Zoo, « She did not like the tigers, The lions or the gnu. She would not fejd the monkeys Or watch the chimpanzees— Elizabeth, aged seven years, Was very hard to please. Elizabeth, at sunset,. Went homeward from the Zoo, She spoke not of the leopards, The bears or kangaroo; Said she, “When I’m a lady I’ll marry a rich man, Who’ll buy me the white peacock’s tail To make a lovely fan!”
