One taxpayer reported a net income of 5,000,000 dollars. Italian Airmen Killed Five airmen were killed when an Italian military ’plane crashed at Pavia. No German Crews for Henley Owing to the political tension Germany is .not sending crews to the Henley regatta.
Sydney Metal Strike The proposals for settlement of the strike of Sydney metal workers, formulated at the compulsory conference and accepted by the strikers, provide that the grievances shall be referred to arbitration. Egypt Wants Russian Trade Reuter’s Cairo correspondent says that the Egyptian Government has instructed its Ambassador in London to approach the Soviet Ambassador with a view to expanding mutual trade. Egypt is particularly seeking an increase in the export of cotton. Air Traffic Forbidden The German Minister for Air (Marshal Goering) has forbidden air traffic over Bohemia and Moravia. Major Attlee Indisposed The Leader of the Opposition (Major C. R. Attlee) is undergoing an operation and is not participating in politics for tw T o months.
