JOHN BARRYMORE PLACED IN OXYGEN TENT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 1, 6.30 p.m.) CHICAGO, May 31. The film actor, John Barrymore, who suffered a heart attack compelling the cancellation of a play in which he is appearing here, was placed in an oxygen tent “to facilitate his breathing," but physicians declared that his general conditon has much improved. Barrymore’s illness is attributed to exhaustion. His wife, Elaine Barrymore, who is in Hollywood, declared her readiness to fly to the bedside if his condition becomes serious.
